Micronutrients

Micronutrients are the chemical elements and compounds that are found in food popular consumed by human. The US Food and Drug Administration has identified 150 micronutrients. Here is the full list, courtesy of the US FDA.

Don't worry about the cryptic nature of the list or the fact most of the names are unfamiliar. Energy is listed twice by the FDA, once in joules (the actual unit of energy) and ounce in Calories, the more common form used by nutritionists.

On this blog, you can expect several kinds of information. One will be about the food (recipes) and cultures that motivates them, another will be about the micro nutrients of each food items, and the last will be about each micro nutrients. What are they? what is their chemical formulae and what kind of electro-chemical reactions do they undergo under different circumstances?

If you are food lover, I invite you to join me as I explore all about food.
